Fri., March 6: Citing Sources: Getting Started w/ RefWorks, Archives Room 1:30pm
RefWorks is a web-based citation management service. You can access RefWorks from any computer with internet access (on and off campus); create a personal database online; import references from multiple databases; organize and manage references; share references; and format bibliographies and manuscripts. The session will show you the basics of creating an account, exporting citations into the RefWorks database, and creating a bibliography.

Wed., March 11: Storytelling with Pictures Online: Using VoiceThread, Archives Room 1:30pm
A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to leave comments in 5 ways – using voice (with a mic or phone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam). Share a VoiceThread with friends, students, and colleagues for them to record comments too.

Wed., March 18: Organizing References and Using Citation Creation Tools, Archives Room 1:30pm

Tour of the some of the popular and newest citation tools available to researchers like Zotero, Easybib, Citeulike, NoodleTools, Connotea, Mendeley and RefWorks.

Wed., March 25: RefWorks: Advanced Techniques, Archives Room 1:30pm
RefWorks provides the capability to share references, to “grab” citations, to upload documents and to cite while you write your paper using the “Write-N-Cite” utility.

Wed., April 1: EBSCO Tools for the Power Researcher, Archives Room 1:30pm

Learn how to use some features within EBSCO like creating a personal account (and why it has its benefits), setting up and sharing folders containing your references, and creating RSS feeds of journal table of contents and search topics for current awareness.
