April 7, FourSquare for “Non-square”, 1:30pm, Archives Room

Foursquare is a fun, location awareness service that many claim is the next big thing. People use Foursquare to “check-in”, which is a web-based/mobile-based way of informing your friends where they can find you. People check-in at all kind of places – cafes, bars, restaurants, and yes – even colleges and libraries. http://foursquare.com/

April 14, Language Resources on the Web, 3:00pm, Archives Room

There are many sources on the web to learn languages and access translation tools. The session will include translation tools like Google Translate and web services such as Mango Languages and Second Life.

This session demonstrates how easy it is to create a blog using WordPress blogging software that includes dynamic embedded features like Twitter feeds, YouTube video, presentations and photos.

April 28, Citing Sources: Getting Started w/ RefWorks, 1:30pm, Archives Room
RefWorks is a web-based citation management service. You can access RefWorks from any computer with internet access (on and off campus); create a personal database online; import references from multiple databases; organize and manage references; share references; and format bibliographies. The session will show you the basics of creating an account, exporting citations into the RefWorks database, and creating a bibliography.
